In 2005, we met in a practice room for the first time, each of us still exploring our instruments and the landscape of improvised music. Within seconds of playing those first notes, we all felt an inexplicable joy and a sense of adventure. While we kept our cool, there was an unspoken feeling of home. We stayed in that small practice room for hours every day for no other reason than to have fun, laugh, and create music we enjoy.

In 2009, we recorded our first album (A Cup of Fuzzy Water) in that same room and that same day we named our band La Lucha. That album was made purely to document the emotion of what we feel when performing together. Since our fateful meeting, we have had the pleasure to perform, record two other albums, and travel with many fantastic collaborators -- all while keeping the original joy we felt when we first met at the center of our music.

Over the years, the La Lucha family has grown in many ways. On this album, we return to our roots as a trio, explore new sounds, and share new original music that reflects our evolution.

We invite you to join us in the adventure and joy we’ve had in creating this music, and most importantly, to keep moving forward and onward: Pa’ Lante!
